On September 23, FMCSA shared in their Twitter account the link to collect comments on their pilot Split-Duty program for eligible CDL holders.

Under the proposed “Split Duty Period Pilot Program,” drivers would have the option to pause their 14-hour on-duty period with one off-duty period of no less than 30 minutes and no more than 3 hours.

Comments must be received on or before November 2, 2020. The implementation date of the Pilot Program would be announced in subsequent Federal Register notices.

You can submit your thoughts about the program to the federal register docket, following that link: https://federalregister.gov/d/2020-19511
