NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Mitchell 1 premiered Manager SE Truck Edition, its new platform designed to work with Mitchell 1’s TruckSeries repair and diagnostic software, on March 9.

Kristy Coffman, director of Mitchell 1’s Commercial Vehicle Group, highlighted the upgrades to its shop management program at the 2025 Technology & Maintenance Council Annual Meeting and Transportation Technology Exhibition.

She touted the program’s built-in tools that will assist shops in running their operations more efficiently, from creating estimates to generating invoices. The Manager SE Truck Edition includes business management features such as Job View and FinditParts.

“Our all-in-one solution for all makes of Classes 4-8 vehicles dramatically simplifies repair processes and shop management tasks,” Coffman said. “It replaces manual tasks with automation and web-based information tools so shops can track business performance and connect with customers — all from one place — and get trucks back on the road faster.”

Job View, a new feature that groups labor operations and associated parts together on estimates and invoices, provides clearer organization and facilitates faster customer approvals. Coffman said the ability to create “canned jobs” for frequently performed services, saves time and improves efficiency. Canned jobs are bundles of work that include specific parts, labor time and instructions for repair or maintenance, such as a brake repair, emissions test or tire replacement.

“Service writers will create an invoice or an estimate. As they’re building this, they might see the same type of job for the same type of vehicle on a regular basis,” she explained. “While at any point, you can go through [Job View] and create a canned job right from the estimate to save for future use.”

Coffman also highlighted Mitchell 1’s partnership with Find-It Parts, which provides a virtual parts catalog and ordering platform to complement the shop management system. The presentation emphasizes how these new features and integrations are designed to improve shop productivity, organization and customer communication, ultimately helping businesses run more smoothly.

“We are aware of the lack of e-commerce from a parts ordering perspective in the heavy-duty industry. There are many online parts catalogs and cross references, but not with the ability to grab that part and place an order at that moment in time,” she said. “[A service writer] still has to do their research and then pick up a phone. How do we solve that problem? That problem is solved by Find-It-Parts.”

FindItParts’ e-commerce platform features advanced search capability, cross-referencing and verified inventory. Parts ordering is directly linked to repair orders, estimates and invoices.

“Mitchell 1’s strong connection to our customer base provides us with valuable insights into what’s needed to enhance the vehicle repair experience for both shops and vehicle owners,” Coffman added. “The integration of FindItParts with Manager SE Truck Edition is a significant step forward in solving the pain points experienced by our shop locations daily. We are continuously updating Manager SE Truck Edition and TruckSeries to address more challenges in the commercial truck repair sector.”
