The California Highway Patrol (CHP) issued a citation to a truck driver who allegedly ignored road closure signs and got stuck in the Lake Tahoe area.

According to a March 18 social media post from CHP – South Lake Tahoe, a “commercial driver intentionally drove past the Road Closed sign & became stuck in the switchbacks of SR-89 in Emerald Bay.”

CHP said that the driver was cited and “earned themselves a very hefty tow bill.”

CHP used the truck driver’s bad day as a reminder to others that “Driving around a Road Closed sign is extremely dangerous, not to mention illegal.”
