14 people were injured in a crash involving 12 cars on an interstate in Rhode Island on Tuesday morning. 

The accident happened on Tuesday morning, March 4th just before 9 a.m. on Interstate 195 in East Providence, Rhode Island. 

“A tractor-trailer traveling west failed to stop for traffic, colliding with approximately twelve vehicles,” Rhode Island State Police said in a statement. 

13 people, including the truck driver, were taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. A 14th woman sustained serious injuries that were not considered life threatening, reported 10 WJAR.

64-year-old truck driver Jon Main has been charged with driving to endanger, resulting in physical injury. 

No further information on the wreck involving 12 cars has been released.
