A truck driver was transported to a hospital unresponsive after being thrown around in a semi truck crash early on Monday morning.

The accident happened on March 10th at about 1 a.m. on the Massachusetts Turnpike east near the Westborough-Grafton line in Massachusetts.

According to Worcester Telegram and Gazette, the accident involved two passenger vehicles and a tractor trailer. The crash caused the semi truck to veer off of the road and down an embankment.

Police initially found “no sign of the operator” of the semi truck, but eventually found him unresponsive and transported him to a nearby hospital, reported NBC Boston. It is unclear if the driver was ejected from the truck cab, became trapped inside somewhere other than the driver’s seat, or escaped on his own before becoming unresponsive.

A second person was also transported to a hospital. The conditions of the truck driver and second victim are unclear.

Eastbound traffic was diverted at Exit 96 as police worked to find the driver and clear debris from the crash. The crash is still under investigation.
