Drivers should expect to see increased patrols along a busy Tennessee interstate as multiple law enforcement agencies partner to crack down on violations.

The enforcement effort, dubbed “Operation Impact I-24,” will take place starting at 12 a.m. Friday morning, March 14, through 11:59 p.m. Friday night.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol and other law enforcement agencies will increase patrols along the full length of I-24 from the Kentucky state line to the Georgia state line.

During Operation Impact I-24, officers will be on the lookout for driver violations, including:

  • Speeding
  • Moving violations
  • Hazardous driving
  • Distracted driving
  • Impaired driving
  • Seatbelt violations

“We will watch for aggressive and distracted drivers in an effort to curb our fatalities,” said Tennessee Highway Patrol Lt. Shawn Boyd.
