Diesel prices took a modest dip, falling 1.4 cents to reach $3.883 a gallon on average, according to Energy Information Administration data released May 22.

- Diesel prices fell in nine of the10 regions in EIA’s weekly survey and were flat in California. The largest drop was 7.7 cents a gallon in New England, and the smallest decrease was one-tenth of a cent in the Rocky Mountain region.
- Gasoline prices nudged down two-tenths of a cent per gallon to $3.534.That’s $1.059 less than it cost at this time a year ago.
