A highway in Big Horn County, Wyoming, will be closed for most of the day on Tuesday as crews work to recover a truck that partially crashed down a steep embankment.

At 7:30 a.m. on July 22, 2025, the Big Horn County Wyoming Sheriff’s Office (BHCSO) reported that a semi truck crashed on US Highway 14A at the Big Horn County/Sheridan County Line in Wyoming.

Images shared by police show the truck balanced precariously along a steep rocky cliff.

“The driver thankfully had only minor injuries and was able to safely extricate from the Semi,” BHCSO said.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

The Wyoming Department of Transportation estimates that US Highway 14A will reopen 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening.

“Please avoid the area and let towing and heavy haul operators work safely. As you can see from the pictures, it will be a very difficult operation,” the sheriff’s office said.
