The Grapevine Police Department (GPD) recently sidelined a truck driver after discovering multiple cans of beer during an inspection.

According to a July 12 social media post, a GPD officer discovered “several cans of beer” during a CMV inspection in the Grapevine, Texas, area.

Police say that the driver was placed out of service for 24 hours after the alcohol violation was discovered.

“Our officers work hard to keep the roads as safe as possible. That’s why our commercial vehicle officer ensures big rigs are traveling safely,” GPD said.

The Iowa State Patrol Commercial Motor Vehicle Unit shared a similar social media post this month after finding beer and other types of alcohol in a CMV.
