Video recently shared by a Tesla blogger appears to show an electric-powered Tesla Semi passing diesel-fueled trucks on the Donner Pass ascent.

The video was shared on July 14 by Twitter account Zanegler, which often shares video, photos, and information on the Tesla Semi.

The video shows the driver of a Tesla Semi rapidly overtaking a Walmart truck and then a truck hauling what appears to be a piece of military equipment.

“I had some thoughts about how to (safely) capture some video of the Tesla Semi vs diesel semi’s going up a steep grade. The average grade ascending the Donner Pass is 7% up to 16%. This is some of what I captured. Tesla runs these semi’s daily, fully loaded up this grade and on other routes to uncover any issues and remediate them before they begin volume delivery. More on this later,” Zanegler said.

Zanegler later corrected his tweet to reflect that Donner Pass has grades no steeper than 6%.
