Another major pileup involving four semi trucks and several passenger vehicles occurred on I-70 in Illinois on Friday.

Firefighters responded to a report of a multi-vehicle collision in an ongoing construction zone near Teutopolis, Illinois, at 1:37 p.m. on Friday, July 14.

The collision occurred on eastbound I-70 at mile marker 101.5.

The Teutopolis Fire Protection District reports that 4 semi trucks, a pickup pulling a camper, and 3 passenger vehicles were involved in a crash.

Remarkably, there was no entrapment and no serious injuries were reported.

The crash is under investigation by Illinois State Police.

The eastbound I-70 construction zone saw similar pileup crashes the two days prior to Friday’s crash.

At 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, authorities responded to eastbound I-70 at mile marker 101.5 for a fiery five semi truck crash in the same construction zone. One person was airlifted to a hospital following this crash.

Shortly after 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 13, a three semi truck pileup was reported on eastbound I-70 at mile marker 102 in the construction zone. No major injuries were reported.
