On Tuesday, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) announced that four Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) have been moved to the agency’s “Revoked” list, meaning that truckers caught continuing to use these devices can be cited soon.
The FMCSA has removed the following four ELDs from the list of approved devices:
- ALL TRUCKERS ELD
- GOLDEN ELD
- PRIMELD
- SECURE ELD

The ELDs failed to meet minimum federal requirements, according to the FMCSA.
Carriers using any of these four ELDs are asked to take the following steps:
- Discontinue using the revoked ELDs and revert to paper logs or logging software to record required hours of service data.
- Replace the revoked ELDs with compliant ELDs from the Registered Devices list before September 23, 2023.
The FMCSA grants carriers 60 days to replace non-compliant ELD devices.
Starting on September 23, 2023, motor carriers who continue to use the revoked devices listed above would be considered to be operating without an ELD. Safety officials who encounter a driver using a revoked device on or after September 23, 2023 are instructed by the FMCSA to place the driver out of service.
“FMCSA strongly encourages motor carriers to take the actions listed above now to avoid compliance issues in the event that the deficiencies are not addressed in time,” the agency said.
So far this year, the FMCSA has removed several other ELDs from the list of approved devices, including the All-Ways Track ELD, ONE PLUS ELD, ELD ONE, and Nationwide ELD.
