The Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) has provided details on a fatal multi-vehicle crash that occurred in a parking lot off the Will Rogers Turnpike on Friday.

The crash occurred around 1 a.m. on August 4 in Craig County, Oklahoma.

OHP says that 31 year old Idaho-based truck driver Jerome Lubango Bienvenu was westbound on the Will Rogers Turnpike when he veered off the roadway at mile marker 288, entered a private parking lot, and went over a curb, leaving about 90 feet of skid marks on the ground.

Trooper say that Bienvenu struck the rear of a 2018 Freightliner Cascadia, then continued west and then hit a 2016 Peterbilt and a 2019 Dodge Ram before coming to a stop.

Bienvenu was pinned in the wreckage for about two hours. He passed away from his injuries at the scene.

The driver of the 2018 Freightliner Cascadia was hospitalized with non life-threatening injuries.

Fox 23 reports that inattentive driving was named as a cause of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
