U.S. authorities recently arrested a Canadian commercial vehicle drivers at a New York port of entry after discovering pills and marijuana in the cab of his vehicle.

The arrest took place on February 28 at the Port of Ogdensburg in Ogdensburg, New York.

Canadian citizen Raphael Leblond-Lacroix, 32, entered the facility while operating a commercial vehicle.

After being referred for a secondary inspection, CBP officers searched the cab of the truck and discovered a “large bag with approximately 130 pills.” Upon further investigation, officers also found “multiple containers and bags of marijuana, weighing approximately one pound.”

CBP said that the seized substances tested positive for the “properties of marijuana and methamphetamine.”

Leblond-Lacroix was taken into custody by CBP and later handed over to Homeland Security Investigations. He is being prosecuted in the state of New York for felony Importation of Controlled Substances.

“I am proud of the commitment and dedication of our officers as they continue to keep our country and communities safe from these dangerous drugs,” said Ogdensburg Port Director Tom Trimboli.
