Echo Global Logistics opened an office in Mexico City ahead of an expected doubling of its cross-border freight business in 2025 compared with 2024, the freight broker said.

The office initially will employ 11 staff, but Echo expects a rapid expansion.

In total, Echo’s Mexican division currently has 50 employees, although the company expects that total to grow to the hundreds “in the next few years as Echo continues to expand.”

“Our Mexico City office builds a new level of support to our clients and carriers who do business south of the border,” said Chief Operating Officer Dave Menzel.

“Having Troy Ryley lead our Mexico division, who brings a lengthy career in international business management to Echo, has been a great benefit to further developing our cross-border operations,” Menzel added.

Echo already had an office in Monterrey, Guadalajara, and just across the border in Laredo, Texas. The company currently has 11 employees based in Monterrey.
