A truck driver is dead after colliding with a Tesla car in a crash in Florida on Tuesday night. 

The accident happened on April 1st in Port St. Lucie, Florida at about 11:25 p.m. on the Florida Turnpike. 

According to CBS 12, the semi truck was traveling on the Turnpike near mile marker 141 when it collided with a concrete rail and struck a Tesla car. More than 100 gallons of fuel was spilled in the wreck. 

The truck driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The motorist in the Tesla was transported to a nearby hospital in serious condition. 

The north and southbound lanes of the Turnpike were closed during the cleanup of the accident. The incident is still under investigation.
