Truck driver wages rose 16% in the first quarter of 2025, according to one study conducted by several job sites.
The study was conducted for the first quarter of 2025 – January 1st, 2025 through March 31st, 2025 – by resume-building platform ‘Resume Now’ and talent-matching platform ‘Talroo,’ and has apparently discovered that truck drivers are receiving better pay than in 2024.
According to the study, truck driver wages rose 16% since the same time period in 2024. That rise is followed by jobs in warehousing at 15%, and is a huge jump in wages compared to the national average of 3.8% wage increase for the same time period.
The study states that the average truck driver wages rose from $22.05 an hour to $25.49 an hour.
“The trucking industry continues to face a qualified labor shortage, resulting in fewer applicants per job and steady demand for new drivers,” the report states. “Job seekers with a CDL or logistics experience can find strong opportunities with competitive wages, although policy and economic changes in Q2 2025 may result in shifts.”
The rise in driver pay found by this one study comes in the wake of rampant trucking company closures over the last few months.
