The truck driver involved in a deadly 2024 crash in Colorado has been deported for the 17th time, according to ICE tweets.
47-year-old Ignacio Cruz-Mendoza was detained by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement in late March, immediately after completing seven months of a one year jail sentence for the US 285 crash in Colorado in June 2024.
According to Fox 31, prosecutors proved that Cruz-Mendoza was living in the US an an undocumented immigrant, had been removed, forcibly or voluntarily, 16 times before, and only had a valid CDL in Mexico.

Cruz-Mendoza was detained by ICE on March 30th, and was officially deported to Mexico on April 16th, according to ICE tweets. The average length of detention for immigration violators accused of other crimes is approximately 56 days.
