The first of many planned electric semi truck stops along Interstate 5 has been switched on this week in California.

The flagship electric semi truck stop was switched on on April 24th in Colton, California. The EV charging station serves as the first stop along a planned 280 mile electric CMV charging corridor between Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

According to Electrek, there are 12 pull-through charging stations for electric semi trucks, and twenty nine bobtail chargers. The truck stop also features a lounge with food and drinks, water refill stations, restrooms, free wifi, cell phone charging stations, and 24/7 customer support.

The truck stop also boats 24/7 station attendants, security cameras, gated access, and safety lighting. Overnight truck parking is available, and there is even office space for lease.

The company in charge of the I-5 corridor charging project, Greenlane, plans to build future sites approximately every 50 to 60 miles in Long Beach, Barstow, and Baker, California.
