The California Highway Patrol (CHP) cited a stuck truck driver in the South Lake Tahoe area on Wednesday.

According to CHP’s South Lake Tahoe division, a semi truck became stuck around 4 p.m. on May 14 as the truck was northbound on SR-89.

Troopers say that the truck became hung up on rocks in the switchbacks south of Emerald Bay.

A tow truck was required to remove the stuck truck.

The road was closed for approximately 3 hours.

CHP reminds truckers that “big rig trucks with an overall length in excess of 65 feet are not allowed on SR-89 north of the ‘Y’.”

The truck driver was cited for the violation, according to police.
