A truck driver won a lottery in North Carolina this month after using random numbers to enter the drawing. 

Truck driver Jonathan Hodge of Luverne, Alabama purchased a Cash 5 ticket in North Carolina using an online method that chooses the numbers for you. On May 8th, the randomly generated numbers on his tickets matched all five balls, a 1 in 962,598 chance. The win earned Hodge a $120,000 jackpot prize. 

“I’ve always said, ‘When it’s my time, then it’s my time,” Hodge said in a Press Release. “I kept reading it over and over. It was pretty cool.”

Hodge went to collect his prize on May 16th. After taxes, he took home a lump sum of $86,109, which he says he will use as a downpayment on a house. 

“Now I’ll have a nice little cushion,” he said.
