Troopers with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) found dozens of violations during a two-day commercial vehicle inspection detail.
The inspection checkpoint was held on May 20 and 21 at Tennant Ave. and Murphy Ave. in the Morgan Hill, California, area.

Troopers from CHP’s Gilroy Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Facility’s Mobile Road Enforcement Unit manned the inspection checkpoint, yielding the following results:
- 12 commercial vehicles inspected
- 41 violations discovered
- 4 commercial vehicles placed out-of-service
- 2 commercial vehicles with multiple out-of-service violations
- 7 “fix it” tickets issued for equipment defects
- Out-of-service violations include:
- Flat tires
- Unsecured heavy construction equipment
- Unsecured hazardous material
- Massive air loss in the brake system
- Improper securement of the trailer
