A road through a Nevada National Park was closed overnight this week after a wayward semi truck got stuck under unclear circumstances.

The incident happened on May 20th on Snake Creek Road in Great Basin National Park in Nevada.

The tractor trailer got stuck on the narrow, winding dirt road one mile from the dead end of the road. The wayward semi truck forced the closure of the roadway as crews worked to remove the truck while damaging the road and nature scenery as little as possible.

“Reminder: Do not blindly trust your GPS navigation system! Park roads are narrow, winding, and not designed for commercial vehicle traffic. All roads entering the park dead-end inside the park and cannot be used for through traffic across the Snake Range,” the National Park wrote in a Facebook post

The road was reopened on May 21st. Information on possible citations has not been released.
