An estimated $150,000 worth of beef was stolen from a parked tractor trailer in Philadelphia over Memorial Day weekend as both co-drivers slept.

The theft happened on Monday, May 26th at the 1400 block of Warfield at 4:30 p.m. in South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

According to NBC Philadelphia, two co-drivers were asleep in the truck between midnight and 5:45 a.m. When they woke up, they found that 10 and a half pallets of beef had been stolen out of the back of their tractor trailer.

Both co-drivers said that the noise of the reefer trailer and idling truck engine had prevented them from hearing the thieves unloading the cargo.

The stolen beef is estimated to be worth around $150,000.
