A trooper with the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) recently issued multiple out-of-service orders during a single commercial vehicle traffic stop.
On June 10, 2025, THP took to social media to highlight a recent traffic stop on a commercial semi truck with a flat tire.
“A THP Motor Carrier Plus Trooper noticed a commercial motor vehicle’s steer axle had a flat tire. A Level 1 inspection revealed the driver had not logged any drive hours, and the trailer did not have any brakes. The driver, truck, and trailer were each placed out of service,” THP said.
Hundreds of social media users responded to THP’s post, with many remarking on the dangers of driving with a steer tire defect. See what people are saying below.
- “I’ve blown a steer at 75mph ain’t no way in hell I’d move that truck with that tire like that !!”
- “I can’t understand why any actual driver would get behind the wheel of that truck…”
- “In all honesty I would be grateful if that happened to me since I obviously didn’t know about it… probably saved that driver’s life catching that one.”
- “Probably because there so many potholes on Tennessee roads.”
