A pair of team drivers were ticketed for falsified logbooks after police arrived at the scene of their failed u-turn attempt.

The incident happened last week on June 19th outside of Fort Nelson in British Columbia, Canada.

According to CJDCTV, a tractor trailer was hauling mail when one of the team drivers attempted a u-turn. The attempt failed when one of the rear axles snapped, and the rear axle bags blew. The tractor trailer was left blocking the roadway to Fort Nelson.

Police arrived at the scene only to discover more violations by both of the team drivers involved in the incident.

“When our police officers spoke with the tandem drivers of the tractor-trailer, they found more problems,” said Corporal Michael McLaughlin with BC Highway Patrol. He says both drivers were found with falsified logbooks, and were each ticketed for the transgression.

A heavy wrecker later arrived to tow the trailer away, only to be ticketed himself for using an electronic device while driving.

“Most commercial drivers understand that there is a higher expectation of safety and professionalism for people who drive big, heavy rigs,” said Corporal McLaughlin.
