A truck driver died on impact after colliding with a train near Los Angeles on Wednesday. 

The accident happened at about 2:15 p.m. at a private railroad crossing near the intersection of Los Angeles Avenue and Montair Drive in Moorpark, California on June 25th. 

According to KTLA 5, Train 118 on the Metrolink Ventura County Line was heading south with 17 passengers and two crewmembers aboard when the accident happened. The collision ripped apart the semi truck, and killed the truck driver on impact. The train remained upright as it pushed the remnants of the semi truck for an unknown distance along the track. 

“The driver of the semi-truck has tragically died from injuries sustained in the crash,” the Ventura County Fire Department wrote in a post on X.

One person on the train sustained minor injuries. No other injuries have been reported. 

The incident is still under investigation.
