Video captured on the scene of a crash on I-57 in Illinois on Wednesday night shows catastrophic damage to the semi trucks involved.
The crash occurred on July 2 in Shelby County, Illinois, north of Effingham.
Two trucks collided on northbound I-57 at mile marker 169, resulting in injuries that sent one of the drivers to a hospital for treatment.
According to WCIA, one of the truck drivers involved was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.
The video below was captured by a trucker who witnessed the crash as it happened.
“I’m like shaken up trying to catch my breath here,” he says as he surveys the crash site. This sh*t happened right in front of me. I mean, right in front of me.”
The trucker in the sheared off cab was fortunately spotted up and walking around after the crash. “He just climbed out, like it was nothing,” said the driver filming.
