A Chicago man is facing charges in connection with a major cargo theft incident, according to local police.
Isadore House, 57, has been charged with Class 1 Felony Theft, according to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) out of Illinois.

Police launched an investigation in April 2025 after learning that fitness equipment taken during a cargo theft in Joliet, Illinois, was now for sale by an individual on Facebook Marketplace.
After reportedly identifying the seller as House, undercover CCSO Organized Retail Crime officers purchased fitness equipment from him over the course of several weeks at a storefront in the 1800 block of West 87th Street in Chicago and at a storage unit he controlled in the 0-100 block of West 85th Street.

A search warrant was executed at the storefront and storage unit on June 5, 2025.

Police recovered approximately $400,000 in fitness equipment, gloves, and other items.
House was arrested on June 5. He was released on June 7 pending trial.
The CCSO formed the Organized Retail Crime Unit in 2023, and since then, the unit has recovered more than $5 million in stolen merchandise, officials say.
