A social media post has gone viral for documenting the actions of a truck driver who pulled over and stood at attention during a police officer’s funeral procession in Kentucky this week.

The incident occurred in Georgetown, Kentucky, on June 1 during the procession for Scott County Sheriff’s Deputy Caleb Conley, who died on May 22 after he was shot while conducting a traffic stop along I-75.

Facebook user Jeremy Courtney called out an Old Dominion Freight Lines truck driver for his touching show of respect for Conley. The Facebook post has been shared nearly 3000 times.

Dear Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. :

I would like to take a second to recognize a star you have on your team. I do not know his name or know him at all but he is the fellow driving truck #2152415 in Georgetown, KY today.

During the funeral procession of fallen Deputy Caleb Conley where many oncoming folks were disrespectfully passing by non chalantly, this fellow stopped, got out in front of his truck and maintained posture for what I assume was the entire procession.

From a human standpoint, things like this gives me hope. From a business standpoint, your company was well represented today during the service of a Hero. We need more people like this in the world.

Old Dominion responded to the post: “Thank you for tagging us. We have passed along your kind words to our management team and the Lexington service center management team. We send our sincere condolences to your community for your loss.”

Facebook users shared words of praise for the driver’s actions.

That’s a hero honoring a hero thank you Mr truck driver for having such a big heart God bless you and the falling officer,” one person wrote.

“What an Amazing and Awesome thing to see! Thank you so much for proving that there are still good people out there that were and are still raised with respect and morals that most are lacking nowadays. I am sure Deputy Conley’s family , friends and law enforcement officers appreciated this very much as do many more. Thank you again for your respect sir,” another person wrote.

Give this man a raise!!! He single handedly just advertised your company in THE BEST way possible. Without being asked, and ABOVE AND BEYOND!!!! Show him how much you appreciate him and how valuable to your team he is!! Good job sir!!” another Facebook user wrote.
