A truck driver was arrested over the weekend following an alleged road rage incident that left a fellow truck driver injured.
The incident occurred on the evening of Saturday, June 10, on I-75 near the Georgia – Tennessee state line, according to the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO).
Police say that the incident began as two trucks entered Georgia traveling south on I-75. The road rage incident was started when one of the truck drivers attempted to change lanes.
One of the truck drivers attempted to force the other off the road, witnesses told GCSO.
As the two trucks continued south from Whitfield County into Gordon County, “one of the drivers fired a shot from a handgun into the driver’s compartment of the other truck.”
The victim was not hit by the bullet but was injured by flying shards of glass. That truck driver was able to call 911 and continued following the other truck into Bartow County.
Once in Bartow County, the alleged shooter was apprehended by Georgia State Police on southbound I-75.
The victim pulled off at a truck stop near the Cass-White Exit.
GCSO executed a search warrant on the offender’s truck and discovered a handgun believed to have been used during the road rage incident as well as additional physical evidence.
Twenty-five year old Florida-based truck driver Nasha Jeuel Johnson was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault, Aggressive Driving, and Pointing a Pistol at Another.
The shooting victim was treated for injuries at a hospital and released.
