Authorities in Wisconsin are investigating an early Monday morning collision that claimed the life of a teenager.

The incident occurred around 3 a.m. on June 19 in Lafayette County, Wisconsin.

Authorities say that siblings Fannie King, 19, and Samuel King, 30, were traveling in an “Amish open-style buggy” pulled by one horse east on Wis. 81 in Darlington Township.

The buggy was struck from behind by a semi truck driven by Pavel Ivanovich Gritskan, 39, from Oklahoma.

The siblings were both ejected from the buggy.

Fannie King died at the scene.

Samuel King was airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries.

Gritskan was not hurt.

The horse was also killed in the crash.

Responding agencies include the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office, the Darlington Police Department, Darlington Fire Department, Lafayette County EMS, Lafayette County Highway Department, and Wisconsin State Patrol.

The crash remains under investigation.
