The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) shared dash cam and police body cam video of a trooper’s recent encounter with a truck driver as a reminder to avoid distracted driving.

The video was shared by OSHP on December 29, 2022. It was captured on US 30 in Crawford County.

In the video, a trooper from the Bucyrus Post spots a truck driving down the center of the highway. The trooper initiates a traffic stop and asks the truck driver why he wasn’t maintaining his lane.

Without much hesitation, the driver admits that he was watching a camera feed from his home.

“That’s distracted driving,” the trooper says. “You can’t be watching your cameras at home while you’re driving a truck.”
