A man was arrested in Washington over the weekend after threatening a sleeping driver with a knife and then fleeing a group of angry truckers.

The incident occurred after 8 p.m. on June 24th in Moses Lake, Washington at Ernie’s Truck Stop near the I-90/SR 17 interchange.

According to Source One News, a trucker was resting in their sleeper berth while parked at the truck stop when a man with a knife entered the truck cab. The trucker quickly confronted the intruder and caused him to flee the truck. The intruder then ran towards another rig, screaming at nearby drivers as he went.

The truckers who saw the incident chased after the suspect as he ran towards the back of the truck stop while another called police. Officers arrived just as the suspect reappeared at the truck stop, seemingly ready to fight the pursuing truckers.

Officers promptly restrained the suspect and took him into custody before a fight broke out. The unnamed man is now facing a weapons offense and a charge of harassment.
