A Washington State Patrol (WSP) trooper tries his best to protect drivers as a pileup crash unfolds on an icy roadway.
The recently released video was captured on December 22, 2022, on I-90 at mile marker 37 east of North Bend, Washington.

The WSP trooper was on scene to assist with semi truck slideoffs when the pileup began. The trooper’s cruiser was reportedly struck twice as he attempted to keep drivers safe, but many drivers passing through were going too fast for conditions and lost control, adding to the pileup.
Fortunately, no major injuries were reported.
