A motorist has been charged with driving under the influence after a wrong-way crash involving multiple cars and two semi trucks in Florida on Friday morning.

The accident happened on July 28th in Seffner, Florida at around 3:40 a.m.

According to Patch Tampa, a Lexus SUV traveling the wrong way on Interstate 4 near mile marker 10 collided with a westbound Mercedes in the inside lane. A pickup truck in the center lane braked to avoid colliding with the initial wreck, but was hit from behind by a flatbed semi truck. That collision spun the pickup and sent it crashing into another semi truck parked on the shoulder of I-4. The flatbed semi truck overturned in the wreck, trapping the trucker inside.

Three drivers were taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries. It is not clear if any of them were truck drivers. The details of their injuries are not known.

The wrong-way motorist, 22-year-old Arda Sengun, was arrested and charged with DUI with serious bodily injury. Westbound I-4 was shut down for almost 5 hours following the crash.
