The Utah Highway Patrol (UHP) is investigating a single vehicle collision that claimed the life of a truck driver on Wednesday.

The crash occurred around 10 p.m. on March 12 on I-80 at mile marker 78 in the Grantsville, Utah, area.

UHP said that a blue semi truck was eastbound on I-80 when it rolled over and crashed into the interstate median.

The driver of the semi truck died in the crash.

A passenger was transported to a hospital for treatment of injuries.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash, and troopers said that high winds are suspected as the cause.

“There are high winds in the area and it’s possible the semi blew over on its side in the median from the wind,” a UHP spokesperson said.
