The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has said that there is still no statement and no bodycam footage to release from the incident involving an undercover officer and a truck driver in his 70s.

The shooting happened during rush hour on March 10th when a semi truck and an off-duty undercover officer in an unmarked car “came into contact with” each other for unknown reasons in Jacksonville, Florida. The officer fired multiple shots at the truck driver. The truck driver was not hurt, but the officer was left with a shoulder injury.

According to News4Jax, the officer has still not come forward with a statement about the incident, and was not wearing a body cam at the time because of his “current assignment.”

“We’re still looking into the details of what happened, and we’re still waiting to hear from the officer, who has the opportunity to decide whether or not he wants to make a statement,” said Jacksonville Sheriff T.K. Waters.

The incident is still under criminal investigation, so no further details have been released.

“When legally able, JSO will further brief the public on this matter,” the Sheriff’s Officer said in a statement.
