The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) is asking for public help in locating a family of three who went missing near the location of a major pileup crash in Arizona last week.
CCSO says that family members Junghee Kim, 54, Taehee Kim, 59, and Jiyeon Lee, 33, have been missing since March 13, 2025.
The family went missing on the same day and in the same location as a 22 vehicle pileup that occurred on I-40 west at mile marker 159.5, near Williams, Arizona. The pileup took place during severe winter weather, killing two people and leaving 16 others injured.
The three Korean women were on vacation traveling from the Grand Canyon to Las Vegas when they went missing.
GPS information from the family’s rental car placed it last on westbound I-40 shortly before 3:30 p.m. on March 13.
CCSO says it isn’t clear whether the family was involved in the pileup.
The rental car is described as a 2024 BMW with California license plate 9KHN768.
If you have any information about the missing family, you’re asked to call CCSO at 928-774-4523, 800-338-7888 or Silent Witness at 928-774-6111.
