The Knoxville Police Department (KPD) arrested two juvenile males for allegedly targeting several semi trucks with rocks thrown off of an overpass.

At 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25, officers responded to westbound I-640 at Bruhin Road in Knoxville, Tennessee, after a semi truck driver reported that an object struck their vehicle and shattered the windshield.

The truck driver was not injured

Police were not immediately able to locate any suspects.

At 2:30 a.m. on March 26, KPD responded to the same location “after receiving multiple calls of objects being dropped from an overpass onto the interstate and striking multiple tractor-trailers.”

No injuries were reported.

Tennessee Department of Transportation traffic cameras captured two individuals walking on the railroad overpass over I-640.

The individuals were identified as a 16-year-old male and a 17-year-old male. Police located the two teens on Central Avenue Pike.

During questioning, both teens admitted to throwing rocks off the overpass, KPD said.

The teens were both charged with reckless endangerment and taken to the Richard L. Bean Juvenile Detention Center.
