Canadian police recently cited a semi truck driver after a load of metal pipes plowed through the cab of his truck and out the windshield.

The crash involving a commercial vehicle hauling “oil field piping” occurred at 11:28 a.m. on March 22, 2025 in the area of Northern Lights Drive and Highway 97 in Fort St John, BC, according to RCMP spokesperson Chad Neustaeter.

RCMP responded to the scene “and located a semi that had slowed down, causing a load of metal pipes to come loose and slide forward. The instability of the load caused the semi unit to veer toward the ditch and some of the loose pipes crashed through the cab of the semi tractor.”

Fortunately, the truck driver was uninjured.

Police described the incident as a “single vehicle crash.”

Police issued a violation ticket for insecure cargo.
