A bobtail semi truck was destroyed and a trucker was burned in an explosion caused by a portable stove inside of the truck cab over the weekend.

The accident happened on Saturday, March 29th at around 5:10 p.m. at the Traveler’s Oasis off Interstate 84 near Eden, Idaho.

According to KMVT, the truck driver was using a portable stove to cook food inside of his truck cab when the stove exploded. The explosion caused a fire that melted the truck cab and left the truck driver with burns on one of his arms.

The truck driver was transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance as firefighters worked to extinguish the fire. The fire was contained before it could spread to nearby tractor trailers, but the bobtail truck was a total loss.

The cause of the explosion is still unknown. No further information has been released.
