For context, the overall vehicle out-of-service rate for the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s International Roadcheck blitz last year was 23%.

“This is not an April Fools’ joke—these numbers highlight just how many dangerous violations were found during a single day of enforcement. These inspections are critical in ensuring unsafe commercial vehicles are removed from the road, protecting everyone who shares it,” LPD said.

Other participating law enforcement agencies include the Carrollton Police Department, the City of Denton Police Department, the Denton County Sheriff’s Office, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Colony Police Department.
