Several interstates are experiencing road closures today after a series of intense storms moved through Tennessee overnight.
The storms passed through Middle Tennessee on Wednesday night, April 2nd. Storms, high winds, and flash flooding are expected to continue through Thursday, April 3rd.
As of 8:05 a.m. CST, Interstate 40 eastbound at mile marker 194 in Davidson County is down to one lane after a tractor trailer wrecked in a construction zone. The wreck damaged road barriers, so officials warn drivers to expect intermittent closures throughout the day as crews work to replace the barriers. I-40 was completely closed from about 5 a.m. until about 7:45 a.m., reported The Tennessean.
We have a number of areas that are flooding right now. Flash flood waters can rise suddenly make sure not to drive around barriers or through low lying areas. Our field responders are currently out in multiple areas where water is rising. #WeatherUpdate pic.twitter.com/kpghLNfPqq
