A snowstorm caused more than 400 spinouts and crashes on Minnesota roadways on Wednesday.

The snow fell across the state on Wednesday, April 2nd, causing snow and ice to accumulate on the roadways.

According to Bring Me The News, only one of the more than 400 crashes caused by the weather was fatal. The fatal accident happened at about 11:35 a.m. on Wednesday on Highway 48 near Hinckley, Minnesota.

The Minnesota State Patrol says that 67-year-old Gary Eugene Thompson lost control on Highway 48 and slid in front of an oncoming semi truck traveling east. Both the semi truck and the pickup truck then ended up in a roadside ditch. Thompson was not wearing a seatbelt and died in the crash. The 50-year-old truck driver was not hurt in the accident.
