An Arizona trooper who had pulled over to do paperwork was hospitalized following a crash caused by a pickup truck driver hauling cars.
The crash occurred at 7:30 p.m. on April 2 in in Buckeye, Arizona, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS).

An Arizona Highway Patrol State Trooper was parked “approximately 20 feet off the highway on the dirt shoulder” along westbound I-10 at mile marker 117 while finishing paperwork for a previous non-injury crash.
Officials say that a white Dodge Ram 3500 truck, towing a vehicle trailer with three vehicles on board went off the right side of I-10 and collided with the parked trooper’s vehicle “at a significant speed.”

The crash resulted in the trooper’s vehicle being pushed another 60 feet to the right of the interstate.
The trooper was hospitalized with possible head injuries.

The pickup truck driver was not hurt.
Arizona DPS reports that the pickup driver was arrested and faces “DUI and related felony charges.”
