A semi’s trailer was catastrophically damaged by a strike with a low clearance bridge in Pennsylvania on Thursday afternoon, according to local police.

The bridge strike occurred on April 3 on South Flowers Mill Road in Middletown Township, Pennsylvania.

According to the Middletown Township Police Department (MTPD), a truck hauling a load of candy struck a bridge marked with a clearance of 9’9″.

Images shared by police show the trailer torn into two pieces, with the truck’s load of sweet treats spilled out onto the roadway.

No one was injured.

“What in the Willy Wonka is going on over at our South Flowers Mill Road bridge today? Two hits in a day, but this one really takes the cake. The neon signs indicating a clearance of 9’9″ are not there as a challenge to see if your tractor trailer will fit – they really mean it’s only 9’9” tall. We are glad everyone is okay after this accident, and we are hoping the shipping company allows us to seize some of the “debris on the roadway” for some thorough testing. I, along with several other brave brothers and sisters in blue, volunteer as tribute,” MTPD said.
