A third man has been charged for the theft of $100,000 worth of poultry from a tractor trailer in Miami last year.
42-year-old Yoel Torres-Diaz and 37-year-old Carlos Acosta-Viera were arrested on Wednesday, April 9th on grand theft charges in connection to a tractor trailer stolen the day before.
According to NBC Miami, Torres-Diaz and Acosta-Viera were seen climbing into a stolen tractor trailer after it was located by the Florida Highway Patrol. The two men were quickly arrested. Torres-Diaz was soon connected to the September 2024 theft of a tractor trailer loaded with $100,000 worth of poultry products parked outside of a truck driver’s home on Old State Road 9 and Northwest 155th Lane in Miami.
Torres-Diaz has been identified as a member of a “sophisticated criminal group.” He is also suspected in a 2022 theft of a tractor trailer loaded with lumber. He is the third man identified as a participant in this criminal group.
