Canadian police have arrested a second person in connection with a double broking scheme to steal loaded trailers containing cargo worth millions of dollars.

Police launched an investigation after several victims reported that their trailers loaded with freight were stolen by a transportation company known as All Days Trucking between December 2024 and January 2025, according to Peel Regional Police (PRP).

PRP detailed the scheme in a news release:

The suspect(s) found freight of interest through a third-party online platform and contacted the victims directly to offer transportation services at a discounted rate.

The victims hired All Days Trucking to transport their freight. The suspect(s) then dispatched different transportation companies, some of which police believe were involved in these thefts, to pick up the trailers and freight from the victims. The suspect(s) maintained contact with the victims through the email address [email protected]. The victims were also contacted using various phone numbers until the date and time when the freight was to be delivered. The company then cut all communications with the victims.

Manjinder Singh Bura

As a result of this investigation, Brampton, Ontario, resident Manjinder Singh Bura, 41, was arrested and charged on February 19 on five counts of Theft Over $5000, five counts of Fraud Over $5000, and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

Investigators say they were able to tie the scheme to Bura Limited Inc., owned and operated by Bura. On February 19, PRP executed seven search warrants on six trucking yards and one residential address directly associated with Manjinder Singh Bura and Bura Limited Inc. While executing the search warrants, police recovered stolen cargo and trailers valued at around $1.5 million

As the investigation into All Days Trucking continued, police executed additional search warrants on February 26 at an address in Nobleton, Ontario, which led to the recovery of additional stolen property. Police also identified two companies also believed to have been involved in the scheme, Velocity Logistics Inc. and Torque Logistics Inc.

PRP said on April 4 that it is now estimated that the scheme includes the theft of “more than five million in stolen cargo.”

On April 3, Sukhdeep Singh Brar, 28, of Brampton was arrested in connection with the scheme and charged with the following:

  • Theft Over $5000 x 17
