Multiple law enforcement agencies partnered to man a commercial vehicle checkpoint in Irvine, California, this week.
The checkpoint was held on April 22, 2025, near Great Park in Irvine.

The Irvine Police Department (IPD) partnered with 14 other agencies from across southern California to inspect commercial vehicles passing through the checkpoint.

According to IPD, 87 commercial vehicle inspections were conducted.
Ten commercial vehicles were towed from the scene.
Additionally, 65 citations were issued. IPD did not specify what types of violations were discovered or whether some of the commercial vehicle inspections resulted in multiple citations.

“These checkpoints are an essential part of our commitment to roadway safety, especially for large vehicles that can pose significant risks when not properly maintained or operated. A big thank you to our partner agencies and to the drivers who are operating safely. Together, we’re keeping Irvine safe—one inspection at a time,” IPD said.
